Google Plan to Integrate AI Chatbot into Search Engine

According to Pichai, Google is developing various AI-powered search products that could potentially shift away from its traditional link-based search approach. Even though Google recently unveiled its competitor to ChatGPT, called Bard, CEO Sundar Pichai clarified that Bard is not integrated into its search engine.

Google is joining Microsoft in the race to integrate chatbots into their search engine. CEO Sundar Pichai confirmed in a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal that Google has plans to bring a chatbot to Google search, but declined to give details on when this might happen.

Google is developing several AI-based search products, including one that enables users to ask follow-up questions after entering their initial query, which could help move away from the link-based search that it popularized.

Microsoft has invested heavily in ChatGPT's OpenAI and is integrating the technology into Bing search. Google has been working on AI in the form of large language models for some time and unveiled Bard, its answer to ChatGPT, earlier this year. While Google is not completely unarmed in its fight against Microsoft, Bard still needs further development.
